Happy Monday, everyone. Brandon here. Blimey! It's already June. Time seems to be going quicker recently, and I don't know if it's because I'm a dad and free time is somewhat non-existent, or because of the fact that keeping up with retro gaming news can be intense throughout the week.
More so, I've been doing it solo this week while Seb takes some much-deserved time off in the Lake District! The news is constant this week, and the story about Lenovo's handheld filled with IP keeps getting spicier, alongside the recently announced ModRetro M64 details that dropped the minute I sent this email, but lucky for you, we prepped the details ready for the embargo lift.
So, grab a cup of tea and jump into the latest retro gaming news! ☕️

I somehow never heard of these "Backpack Buddies", which are basically Nintendo Console blind bags with a rare Golden GAME BOY hidden inside limited bags. They seem to be a UK exclusive, but I just had to try my luck, even if I don't believe in the gambling aspect of this type of tat. I'm sorry, okay, but... a golden GAME BOY, come on!!!
Coming Up

This week, I'll be focusing on taking a deeper look at ModRetro's M64 and their new controller. My prototype unit was sent back to ModRetro, but apparently, a finalised unit is landing this week, alongside a first look at their official controller, which I am excited to take a look at. So I will be prepping content for this week, even though the embargo has been lifted on it today. Stuff takes longer to ship to us over the pond, which often bites us on the butt, but hey, I can't complain, we're working hard at getting you our opinions, and fast.
On top of that, we'll be leaning into constant news coverage, a few more shorts and planning our first vending experience at this month's Retro Gaming Market in Bristol, UK to promote our GAMENOOK products!
As per usual, happy gaming, and we'll see you again next week!
