I wrote the title of this article and went on to play Caps in my browser. Somehow, 30 minutes seems to have gone buy in the blink of an eye. So I say this as a warning - this thing magically seems to make time go faster, and I couldn't do anything to stop it!

Ok, it's incredibly addictive, and Caps manages to instill a supercharged shot of 90s nostalgia like I've never experienced from a browser-based game. It took me straight back to opening up packs of crisps to find Pogs and Tazzos inside, playing the age-old game of Milk Caps with different designs from my favourite 90s series.
I can remember watching Casper in the cinema and collecting the themed caps. Pokémon caps were also a firm favourite of the Dodo team as kids, and we've got a fair collection kicking around Retro Dodo Towers from our youth.

How did I find out about this game? Well, a dev called tjaydesign has made the 90s game playable in your browser with different themed caps. So far I've had casper, Chupa Chups, Dunkin Donuts, Pokémon, and Pogs themed caps. Strangely, I couldn't get Pokémon caps on my laptop despite having 5 different windows open, but got Pokémon caps straight away when I played on my phone.
The game is simple; you slam your cap down and try to get it faced up. If you get yours up but your CPU buddy doesn't, then you get a chance to throw both together. If you or your buddy then gets them both faced up, then they become yours or theirs, and you start again with two new caps. It's the same kind of power meter that youd find on games like Mario Golf; get the meter in the green bar, and you're in with a better chance of flipping your cap successfully.
There's not much to the game, but there doesn't need to be - it's the kind of mindless fun that you need to switch off for ten minutes or 3 hours while you're at work, and it takes me back to my childhood.
The game is free to play; just head to the Caps website to start challenging your imaginary friend!
