We're in a time where everything is getting more expensive, and I'm not just talking about the cost of living. For many businesses, the costs of parts and components are all going up, and that's without any tarrifs. Memory and flash storage has gone up an unprecedented amount with the rise of AI (another reason we can't stand it), and according to the latest press released form Blaze Entertainment HQ, DRAM and NAND flash prices are set to go up this year too.
It means that the price of Evercade Cartridges and Super Pocket consoles has gone up. I know, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but the good news is that they're not going up by much.

Speaking in the official Press Release, Andrew Byatt explains that this is not a decision that Blaze have taken lightly, but one that is necessary. The price hike only affects UK and EU gamers with prices going up £5 for UK gamers and €5 for EU players. It's not a lot to be honest; Evercade cartridges work on Evercade and Super Pocket systems, and they're well put together with colour booklets and hard case boxes.
Speaking of the Super Pocket, that's going up £10/€10. Prices in the US remain at $29.99 and $69.99 for the Evercade cartridges and Super Pockets, respectively. Evercade. Prices on the EXP-R, VS-R, and Evercade Alpha will remain the same in all territories, as will the Nexus.

It means that all cartridges, whether normal carts or Giga Carts, will be priced the same. Andrew goes on to say that 'Evercade and Super Pocket remain focused on what we believe matters: physical products, officially licensed games, curated collections, no subscriptions, no complicated set-up and a growing library for players and collectors. We also have some fantastic products and games on the way.'

Evercade's focus is still on making physical media that we can all be proud of, and in a time when the future of physical media feels uncertain, I love their commitment. And trust me, with how good Banjo-Kazooie was on Super Pocket, I would pay twice as much for the upcoming Banjo double pack that Evercade are releasing alongside the Nexus.
