Hyperkin’s New Switch Hot Dog Controller Really Cuts The Mustard

You read that right, Hyperkin have revealed a Switch controller based on a hot dog, with others based on Kool-Aid and sriracha sauce.

Hyperkin has teamed up with Oscar Mayer, Kool-Aid and Huy Fong for the three new limited edition Switch controllers.

On the 27th January, Hyperkin teased fans with a Tweet about upcoming brand controller collaborations with a photograph of a glass of juice and a hot dog.

Now we know the new ‘flavours’ applied to Hyperkin’s Bluetooth Pixel Art controllers for Nintendo Switch.

The new controllers are limited edition so if you fancy adding them to your gaming set up (or your kitchen cabinet) you best act quickly.

Each controller will set you back $39.99 and matching EVA Hard Shell Carry Cases are also available for $19.99.

Hyperkin have been on a bit of a roll recently with the recently revealed Mega 95 handheld promising a nifty way to enjoy original Mega Drive cartridges on the go.

The company also produced the decent Retron Sq, a device that shows a lot of potential for the people interested in playing their old Game Boy games on their TV.

The hot dog, Kool-Aid and sriracha controllers aren’t the first peripherals that Hyperkin have produced based on food and drink. In 2022 the manufacturer revealed limited edition Pixel Art controllers based on Heinz ketchup and mac and cheese.

We love a novelty controller at Retro Dodo and we relish the opportunity to get our paws on these new accessories.

Admittedly, we feared for the wurst when we heard about a controller based on a hot dog but seeing the photos we know that Hyperkin is on to a wiener with this one.
