I saw this on my socials, immediately went to my Switch 2 to check it out, and have been singing the Wii Mii Maker theme tune ever since. I'm currently listening to a VGR Remix on YouTube; that's how much of a nostalgic rabbit hole I've gone down!

If you go and update your Switch or Switch 2 console right now, you'll be able to go to settings, head to the Mii Maker section, and choose to have music playing in the background. There are three tracks to choose from, bringing the tunes that we listened to on repeat while making our Mii characters on the Wii, the 3DS, and the Wii U to the Switch.

There's also a QR code feature that you can use when scanning and creating your characters so that you can share them with other users, and you can also use it for characters made on the 3DS and the Wii U too.

Look, this isn't going to revolutionise your life, but it's a great nostalgic nod back to the days of creating Miis for hours, something I did time and time again on the Wii. I made characters like Alan Rickman, Harry Potter, Aragorn, and so many other weird and wonderful characters so that Mario Kart games would become really unhinged with my friends.

The music takes me straight back to 2006, and now it's going to be in my head for the rest of the year. You know what though, I'm not mad about it, and I love these little things that Nintendo do to remind us of the past and keep nostalgia alive. It's a free update, and it put a smile on my face, so thank you, Nintendo!
