Here we go again, AYANEO is slowly teasing their latest device, known as the KONKR Pocket Advance, an upcoming horizontal handheld that will likely become the sister-handheld of the recently announced KONKR Pocket Block.
Originally, I thought the leaks of the KONKR Pocket Advance could be true, looking very close to the design of the Pocket Block, but I was wrong. The leaks are likely not true after seeing AYANEO's latest social post, teasing a blurred picture of what looks like the GAME BOY Advance.
But I believe the picture shown could possibly be the device that they are building. I say that because a very trusted source who has indeed seen the KONKR Pocket Advance has informed me that it's going to look "just like the GAME BOY Advance". Which I'll admit. I somewhat hesitated to believe because usually handheld manufacturers try not to fly too close to the Nintendo sun, but in fact, AYANEO could go there. I unfortunately cannot name my source as they want to stay anonymous, but I wanted to mention it.

ANBERNIC did it with their RG4XX, and now it looks like AYANEO will join them, but likely in a more premium form factor. Who knows, maybe even a completely metal shell and the stunning 4:3 display that's in their Pocket Micro 2, which would make sense as that can upscale GBA games at 4x very naturally.
The image shared from AYANEO is very generic, and could be the original GBA, but I have a funny feeling they're going to build a modernised version of it, similar to what BoxyPixel has done in the past. But this is just my thoughts and opinions. It's literally a generic, super-blurred image; take what you can from it. AYANEO has stated that the "first reveal is tomorrow". So until then, I'll be here speculating and dreaming day in day out! Join our free weekly newsletter to not miss out on tomorrow's news.
