The Retroid Pocket Nova hasn't even been released yet, and there are now rumours of a new dual-screen device coming from Retroid themselves, a device many of their customers have been asking for, even if unknowingly, the popular dual-screen AYN Thor is sold by the same parent company who own's Retroid, known as Moorechip Technologies.
This rumour comes from the social media manager behind Retroid's official and verified Douyin account, which is the Chinese version of TikTok. A member of their community asked what the progression is on an upcoming dual-screen handheld, which has not been announced yet.

To everyone's surprise, Retroid responded with the translated version of "Second half of the year". It's unlike Retroid to be so open with announcements like this, as I know this personally, as I'm continuously poking and messaging the social media manager of the Western accounts, and they're always strict with what they say, rarely giving me anything new, which is understood. Why should they?
This means, indeed, Retroid are likely working on a more affordable version of the AYN Thor for their community, even amongst all of the shortages of screens across the globe, which many other manufacturers have stated. How the price is currently top of my curiosity, as it would be odd to make this compete with their own $259+ AYN Thor. Unless they discontinue the cheaper versions from AYN and create a new version for Retroid fans with less power, enough to emulate up to 3DS, perhaps, who knows? That's for us all to think about.
As of now, we just have to wait until the second half of the year to see more information. Retroid, teased and released the Pocket Nova fairly quickly, so it's possible that's what they'll do with what I want to call the Retroid Pocket Flip 3? It's likely it will release at the end of the year to scoop up retro gamers' Christmas budgets. Subscribe to our free newsletter to not miss out on updates about this handheld.
