Can you remember the first time you played a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game and experienced what it was like to actually be a Pokémon? It was a revelation, actually getting to chat with other Pokémon and teaming up with them as opposed to just using them in battle.

I remember playing Explorers of Sky on my DS and immersing myself in this alternative Pokémon adventure just like I did with the Pokémon Trading Card game on the Game Boy Color, and now there's a new ROM hack that changes the story up to provide a brand new adventure for fans to enjoy. It's called Echoes of Yesterday, and it takes place before the events of Super Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS.

Honestly, it looks incredible, and the story sounds perfect too. After a rumour reaches Ampharos's ears, the Expedition Society from Lively town heads out on a quest to help their fellow Pokémon on the Grass Continent. Players take control of the group's newest member Archen, working with old and new faces to discover secrets and uncover the mystery of the Future Slab. It's the cutest premise of all time, a fact that is only confirmed by watching the trailer.
According to the story's creator, noodleniiue, it's a small adventure that will last around 5 to 7 hours or more, depending on how much searching you like to when playing your games, but the overworld and dungeons look amazing from what I've seen in the trailer, so I would imagine I'd be pushing 10 hours with this game for sure!
To play Echoes of Yesterday, you'll need to patch Echoes of Yesterday onto a legally acquired EU ROM of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. Head to the project's page for more information!
Oh, and don't forget to check out Pokémon Gadir Deluxe while you're here!
