Nintendo thought that we would all be so excited by the upcoming trailer for Ocarina of Time in their dedicated Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct that we wouldn't realise that they had sneakily revealed their third Legend of Zelda LEGO set, featuring Adult Link and Epona in the iconic scene from the opening sequence of the game. Well, guess what, Nintendo: we spotted it, and I almost spat my coffee out I was that excited.

LEGO have released two other LEGO sets to date - the Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 set that captured the essence of both Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, and the Final Battle from Ocarina of Time, both of which are beautiful sets. This set, according to Nintendo, will be 1,750 pieces, meaning it will be bigger than the Final Battle set (1,003 pieces) and smaller than the now-retired Deku Tree set (2,500 pieces). It's set to come out in Spring 2027 as part of 40th Anniversary celebrations!

Whereas the Final Battle has more of a cartoony nature to it, this LEGO set feels more like something collectors (like yours truly) would have on their desks or next to their gaming collections. Or let's face it, as part of a Zelda shrine. It's more of a serious set than the Final Battle, despite that Final Battle being one of the best boss battles of all time and something I had to concentrate fully on, and the likeness to both Link and Epona is amazing considering they're made out of LEGO Bricks. It certainly puts the fake LEGO Zelda sets I put together to shame, doesn't it?

This new LEGO Zelda set was almost overshadowed by the amazing gameplay of Ocarina of Time and the reveal of the new Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary hardware, but I'm glad Nintendo gave us a little sneak preview of it. There hasn't been any official word from LEGO on their site yet about the set, but I'm sure that now the announcement of the LEGO PlayStation has happened and the Zelda Direct has finished, they'll be putting together some marketing materials to send out about the new set and when pre-orders will be available. As always, I'll let you know here when I hear any new information!
