I loved Kirby and the Forgotten Land so much. Ever since Kirby and the Crystal Shards came on the N64, I've loved his cutesy titles, and hearing the music that I've grown up with on every Kirby game ever playing on the Nintendo Direct made me super happy.
This game looks like it's open-world, like some sort of extreme cutesy version of Breath of the Wild, especially when you see Kirby flying through waterfalls and avoiding King Dedede in beautiful locations. You even seem to be able to break the fourth wall by knocking King Dedede through the sky of a level into some other realm (more on that in a second, though I guess the title gives it away!)
It looks like Kirby has been learning something from Donkey Kong, because he seems to be able to smash everything in sight, including his own world, opening up tears into new places that, well, let's just say don't feel as cutesy (I'm sorry I've used that word so much, but look at him - he's adorable!). The copy ability is going strong in this game, as is Kirby's arsenal of weapons. And who's that floating character? What's happened to King Dedede? When are my questions going to be answered?
Kirby and the World Beyond is arriving in Spring 2027, so I guess I've got a little longer to wait until I figure out what's going on. It's coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and next year marks Kirby's 35th anniversary, so there's probably going to be a heap of Kirby-related activities and re-releases coming from Nintendo HQ!
