I've been saying for a long time now that Capcom needs to show a little more love to Mega Man. I know I say this a lot about my favourite games, and I mentioned the same thing in an article earlier today about Nintendo showing Star Fox some more love, but I mean it - Mega Man deserves more.
I've had to rely on ROM hacks of older games created by members of the retro gaming community for a while now. But it seems like Nintendo and Capcom have been either listening in on my conversations or have managed to hack into my thoughts, because we've got a brand new Mega Man game coming in the form of Mega Man: Dual Override, and Mega Man isn't going to be alone.
The game brings Proto Man into the fight too. Proto Man can use his shield to charge through bots, clearing the way and making mince meat of enemies. The protagonists have two very different play styles, but at least it means you can play through the game twice with a different feel each time!

You can also upgrade your characters as you play, which you'll need to do to take on the bosses in the game. Plus, there are new override forms you'll need to use to unleash your true power!
Everyone who has been playing the current Override season in Fortnite and checking out tonnes of retro characters, including Mega Man (I was using his arm cannon in a battle last night), will undoubtedly be interested in checking out Mega Man's new game, especially as the titles sound pretty much the same. It's about time Mega Man got another stint in the limelight, and I know he's sharing it with Proto Man, but at least he's back in gamers' minds again and getting a new title on the Switch 2!
Mega Man: Dual Override will be releasing in Spring 2027!
