Crisis Core is, undoubtedly, one of the greatest PSP games of all time. It serves as a prequel to Final Fantasy VII and shows where, to quote the voice of the Nintendo Direct, it all began.
The Final Fantasy remake series' third and final part is coming to Nintendo Switch, but that's not the news that has got me excited. Crisis Core - Reunion is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later on today, which I'm very pleased about.
For many people who never owned a PSP, this will be one of the first chances that they've had to play Crisis Core. I did play it when I was younger, and it's one of the reasons I don't have any hair now. You need to have some tactical thinking to progress in this game (don't you in all of the FF games, to be fair), and I'm glad that, even though the PSP isn't in circulation as a major handheld anymore (in mainstream channels, at least), Switch users can now play it and immerse themselves in a classic.
I put this game as our best PSP RPG a few years back, and I still stick by it! If you're playing through the Final Fantasy 7 Remakes, then you owe it to yourself to check out this prequel! The graphics look fantastic, and it's available to buy digitally later today, so you don't even have to wait!
