You know what, it's about time. I've been thinking about Kingdom Hearts a lot recently, mainly because I watch trailers and rumour videos for the upcoming game on a regular basis. But when I think about it, I'm surprised they haven't arrived in Fortnite before now - Sora is a legendary video game character, and his Keyblade makes for the perfect pickaxe for smashing Slurp Juice wagons and Loot Llamas.
The trailer below shows Riku and Kairi joining the fight with Sora, and it looks like we might be getting a fantastical Kingdom Hearts-themed map to play through too. It's not the first time Disney has partnered with Epic Games either; there have been Star Wars themes (yes, I know we all forget Star Wars is Disney now) as well as character skins for Maleficent, Jack Sparrow, Marvel Characters, and more.
I do wonder whether Mickey, Donald, and Goofy will be making an appearance. In the same way that I don't think Nintendo would be too happy with Mario holding an assault rifle and running around pumping Yoshi full of lead, I wonder how happy Disney would be to see Mickey wielding a blade and battering opponents. Still, they can get away with it with Sora and his pals, and I'm excited to see how the game changes with their arrival this week! (Yes, I play far too much Fortnite).
