How Tall Are The Ninja Turtles?

  • August 7, 2022

I walked past a tortoise today while walking the dog, and found myself wondering ‘how tall are the Ninja Turtles?

I know it’s not a turtle, but you don’t tend to get many of those in Yorkshire, UK.

I mean, think about it (which I do often) – the TMNT walk around in sewers, right? How tall are the sewers?

Do they bang their heads, do they have to stoop? Are they actually the size of small dogs and April O’Neil is just really far away all of the time?

These are the questions we all need to be asking ourselves on a regular basis.

Just like when I found the answer to how fast is Sonic the Hedgehog, discovering the heights of the Ninja Turtles has changed my life for the better.

It’s up to you whether you believe that or not…

So, just how tall are the Ninja Turtles? Find out below!

How Tall Are The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Heroes in a half shell, turtle power! (I know you had to sing the whole song, so I thought I’d wait until you’d finished.

The turtles sizes haves changed over the years, with the characters moving from around 3-4 foot tall in the early comics and growing as the cartoon series and films have advanced.

Now, they’ve grown to sit between 4′ 7″ and 6′ 0″.

Whether that’s due to pizza intake or just because it looks better on films, I don’t know. One thing is for certain though; if they carry on at this rate of growth, they’ll be 10-foot-tall before we know it!

The sizes below are in reference to the TMNT film ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’.

Get ready to have your mind blown!

How Tall Is Donatello?

Donatello from the Ninja Turtles is 5 foot 3 inches tall.

Considering you can pick a normal turtle up in your hands, that’s a pretty ginormous transformation!

Donatello wields his famous staff and is probably the most centred, sensible member of the group.

If you’ve seen our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredders Revenge review, then you’ll also know that he’s one of the best for attacking safely from a distance.

Smart guy, that Donatello!

How Tall Is Raphael?

Raphael is the tallest turtle, sizing up at 6 feet tall.

That means that he’s as tall as me. A turtle the same size as me wielding daggers… it doesn’t really bear thinking about, does it!

Raphael, sometimes just called Raph by his closest friends (not me, don’t worry) is the second oldest turtle. He and Leonardo often get in spats with each other, but they usually pull together when duty calls.

How Tall Is Leonardo?

Leonardo stands at 5 foot 5 inches tall.

He’s a little smaller than his younger brother Raphael, though that doesn’t stop him from pulling rank as the oldest turtle in the pack.

And, when you’re wielding duel katanas, it doesn’t really matter how tall you are, does it?

How Tall Is Michelangelo?

Michelangelo is the smallest of the Ninja Turtles with a height of 4 foot 7 inches tall.

I guess it makes sense that the smallest turtle is also the most mischievous. He’s the turtle with the most skill but just doesn’t like to try. Rather than training, he just wants to skate and eat pizza.

I think we all feel a little like Mikey every now and again.

And that’s a wrap!

Now, when someone says ‘how tall are the Ninja Turtles’, you can answer unequivocally that you know their heights from 2022 and how much they’ve grown over the years.

Both physically, and as people… turtles… you get the idea.
