One of those leaked titles is Fallout 3 Remastered, one of our best Xbox 360 games coming back to life with epic new graphics for a brand new generation of gamers.
Remastered games are all the rage right now – you’ve only got to check out the latest Nintendo Direct to see Tomb Raider Remastered and Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Remastered to see how much the gaming industry is pumping out old yet cherished content for modern consoles.
And the news of Fallout 3 being next in line for the next-gen treatment has us all feeling like Christmas is just around the corner!

Fallout 3 Remastered Gameplay
Fallout 3 first came out in 2008, and while the graphics looked good on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in the day, they simply don’t compare to modern-day next-gen classics like Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Forbidden West.
And in terms of gameplay, not too many things are going to change as it’s a game remaster and not a new concept.
That means heading back into lands ravaged by nuclear warfare and experiencing all the stress that comes with fighting for extreme survival. All the guns, the creepy characters, the desolate locations; they’re going to come back with full force and make us fall in love with this game all over again.
Let’s not forget the side-quests that appeared in the first game too. Those small missions are what has kept gamers coming back to this game again and again since 2008, and will undoubtedly keep them coming back for another 15 years on the remake too!
What Platforms Will Fallout 3 Remastered Be Available On?
Fallout 3 Remastered will initially only be available on Xbox Series X/S.
Come on, you really didn’t expect Microsoft to be letting this game come onto the PS5, do you?
We’re predicting that this Bethesda classic will be dropping on Xbox Series X/S first, and we would imagine that it will arrive Steam 12 months after the initial release date just like the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2.
I mean, think about it; like Silent Hill 2, Fallout 3 was a huge title that so many of us loved. This is going to be yet another chance for Microsoft to convince people to buy an Xbox Series X/S over the PS5.
And as for the Switch, I can’t see it dropping on Nintendo’s current iteration of the Hybrid Handheld.
Still, if the current rumours about critics already checking out the Nintendo Switch Pro behind closed doors at special events, then we could be seeing Bethesda lining Fallout 3 Remastered on the new machine further down the line.
When Is The Fallout 3 Remastered Release Date?
Fallout 3 Remastered is most likely to drop in Summer 2024.
The leaked release schedule shows Fallout 3 Remastered dropping in 2024, and we know from the Metroid Prime Remastered game that these games can be shadow dropped at a moments notice and create absolute pandemonium with people rushing to buy them.
As the game already exists and is just receiving the remastered treatment, we’re confident that Bethesda can knock this one out of the park very quickly
Can I Play Fallout 3 Remastered On PS5?
Fallout 3 Remastered will not be available of PS5. The game will only be released on Xbox Series X/S.
If you’ve been living under a rock, then you might have missed the fact that Sony and Microsoft have been at each other’s throats for a while now. And since Microsoft acquired Bethesda back in 2021, they’re not about to give an exclusive over to Sony just to appease older fans.
If you want to play the new game, then you’re going to need to get an Xbox!
How Will Fallout 3 Be Remastered?
We’re predicting Fallout 3 is going to get the Unreal Engine 5 treatment, enhancing the original graphics from 2008 and giving it a whole new lease of life.
If the Silent Hill 2 Remake is anything to go by, then Unreal Engine 5 is going to be the secret weapon to bring the game kicking and screaming into the Next Gen gaming world.
