Back when we spoke to Jez San and some of the Argonaut team behind the original Croc game for the PS1, we touched upon Croc's Game Boy Port. Jez had said that it wasn't something he initially wanted to do as the game wouldn't be completely identical to the PS1 version due to the hardware limitations, but rather an interpretation of the original idea.
Still, Croc ended up doing well on the Game Boy and garnered a smaller but loyal fan base of the fun 'scrolly, jumpy' version of his adventure. Back in the 'Croctober' of 2024, Argonaut Games took to socials to say that something exciting would be happening for Croc's 25th Anniversary on the GBC, and this week they revealed that the game will be returning in both physical and digital form with quality of life improvements later this year.
Back in #Croctober, we said that Croc GBC’s 25th anniversary was coming up.

Well, today’s the day! We’re excited to say that Croc will be returning later this year as a 25th Anniversary Edition GBC cartridge to play on real hardware, and also as an online digital version! 🎉 pic.twitter.com/cO7W8R2rbw
Like the Croc Remaster Argonaut have just released, the game will have quality of life improvements like being able to save without inputting a password and better controls. This is going to look awesome on my Analogue Pocket and ModRetro Chromatic, and I can't wait to add it to my collection!
