Have you ever stopped to think what Crazy Taxi would look like on the Game Boy? I know the GBA had its own version, but I'm talking about the original Game Boy, picking up passengers in 8-bit and recreating the feeling of the arcade game in those iconic DMG green hues.

Meet Taxi Boy, a demake of Crazy Taxi from Spanish studio PCNONO Games that sends the game back 10 years to the advent of the Game Boy. Like the original, you'll choose your taxi driver, find passengers, rack up fares, and complete journeys before the time runs out. You'll follow a sat nav, find the best route through the city, and try to dodge oncoming traffic as you get to your goal. You'll also need to refuel, which is something that never appeared in the arcade version of the game.
There are 3 different player characters to choose from and 11 different characters in the game. You can pick from 5 different cars, and race around listening to a custom soundtrack made by Narcisound.

Players can use ramp trucks to jump over buildings/get to different parts of the city, and, like in every other variant of the game, hitting traffic will cause you to lose momentum and time, so you'll need to stay one step ahead of the game if you want to get a high score.
Taxi Boy is available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Android and can be purchased from Itch.io for the recommended price of €3.99, though users can pay more if they like what they see. PCNONO Games have stated that a physical edition is coming soon too!
