Animal Crossing will forever be one of my favourite cosy games, maybe second to Pokopia now (don't tell Tom Nook). It all started on the GameCube back in 2001, and since then, we've had some amazing adventures with our anthropomorphic pals.

X user @turtlekiosk has released a web port of Animal Crossing for the GameCube with PWA offline support; controller, keyboard, and touchscreen support; and save compatibility with Dolphin. There's also a mutable audio function for those of you who want to listen to some heavy metal while waiting for your bells to rack up.

It's important to note that this is a Progressive Web App, which means you can save it locally on your device for an experience that feels like an app, but also with offline support. You can just add it to your homescreen for easy access.

According to turtlekiosk's GitHub page, this is a port but with no distributed assets. You'll need a legally acquired Animal Crossing ROM to make it work, and the game hasn't been fully playtested as of yet. Still, if you want to give it a go and take Tom Nook with you on your device wherever you go, then check out turtlekiosk's GitHub page.
