Analogue and Supreme recently teased a collaboration, creating limited edition versions of their popular Pocket handheld in both plated 24K gold and red aluminium shells. Well, those consoles went up for sale on Supreme.com less than an hour ago, and in typical Analogue/Supreme tradition, they sold out in minutes, likely making their way to those who don't actually want to use them, but instead resell them.
And that's exactly what's happened. The listing went live, and the 24K gold version was priced at £508 here in the UK, equivalent to $699 USD. The red aluminium version was a little cheaper, coming in at £428, which converts to $583. High price tags for sure, likely due to the manufacturing process of the rare materials, and the limited stock flew sold out in minutes.

Supreme never state how many they make; this is their FOMO marketing at play, which has turned them into a fashion icon, and as we know, Analogue has also used this tactic in the past, creating limited edition variants that sell out swiftly, again making their way on eBay shortly after at inflated prices. So this collaboration, although not made to please their community, was a mutual benefit to them both.
19 of the Supreme edition Analogue pockets are already on eBay for around the £900/$1,220 (#aff) price tag, even going as high as £1,026/$1,400 (#aff) for those wanting to secure this limited handheld that loves fingerprints.

There's no doubt this is a great handheld; I have one, and use it weekly. It's remarkable, but the retro gaming community are losing their patience with Analogue after they continuously use disrespectful FOMO marketing tactics to lure gamers into unique variants of their products while simultaneously and tactically taking their time stocking "normal editions". This is yet another sign of where their priorities lie. It sold out so fast that Analogue didn't even have time to update their homepage.
