I love Star Fox Adventures; it's the one game I'm hoping will arrive on Nintendo Switch Online so that I can play it on my Switch 2, and I regularly play it on my GameCube to this day. It doesn't get the love it deserves, which is why some of you might not have heard about Dinosaur Planet.

Dinosaur Planet is the game that morphed into Star Fox Adventures. It was never released on the N64, instead becoming the GameCube adventure with Fox McCloud as the protagonist. The unfinished game has since been revived and completed thanks to the retro gaming community and the efforts of gamers dedicating their time to decomp and recomp the game, adding in information sourced about the plot and sourcing the game files themselves. And now, thanks to DinoPad, you can play the game on your iPad, iPhone, or Mac for the first time!

DinoPad exists because of years of work from the Dinosaur Planet preservation, decomp, recomp, and modding communities. Dinosaur Planet: Recompiled built the native game… pic.twitter.com/N0qm0STG3m
This isn't the game running on an emulator either; like the Pokémon gen1recomp and the native port of Twilight Princess 'Dusk', the game runs like an official title rather than having to open up an emulator every time. You'll still need a ROM of Dinosaur Planet to get it up and running, but once that's installed, everything will work as it should have done were this game to have released as a proper title back in the day!
According to Kahris on X, DinoPad supports touch controls and external controllers, with players able to import save files and save their progress on their chosen devices. Head to GitHub to find out more!
