Konami has announced the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection will launch for Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year.

The publisher has revealed just two games in the new compilations so far; Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of the Great Duelist and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2.

Konami unveiled the collection during a stream celebrating a quarter of a century of the franchise’s popular card game. The stream also saw Konami launch its own Anime Studio.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection looks set for a Japan-only release. Konami haven’t indicated whether the collection will launch outside of Japan at the time of writing.

The regional exclusivity isn’t entirely surprising considering the two announced games for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection also never received Western releases.

Konami is expected to reveal more titles for the new compilation, along with a release date soon. Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection is scheduled to launch sometime in 2024 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of the Great Duelists originally released for the Game Boy Colour back in 2000 and was the best-selling game for the system in Japan with an estimated 2.2 million copies sold by the end of 2001.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 arrived in Japan in December 2001 and released exclusively for the Game Boy Advance.

As for the other titles that could make the cut for the Early Days Collection, there are plenty of Yu-Gi-Oh! games for Konami to choose from. Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters is a strong contender for it’s solid gameplay and critical reception on the GBA.

Other potential Yu-Gi-Oh! games that could appear on the Early Days Collection include Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories and Monster Capsule GB. Both titles appeared on our best Game Boy Color games of all time list.

We don’t know much more about Konami’s plans for which Yu-Gi-Oh! games will be included in the collection but then it’s still early days…
