If I've said it before, I've said it 100 times - Metroid doesn't get enough love. It's one of the best series that Nintendo has ever produced, though the gap between Metroid Prime 3 and 4 was far too long to be allowed. 18 years between the two games... It's ridiculous. And I know we had other games like Metroid Dread in the meantime, but it's about time Samus was paid a little more respect for being an incredible bounty hunter and creating half of the Metroidvania genre!
I came across this 253-piece set of Samus Aran's iconic Varia Suit helmet from designer RockMonstrosity on the LEGO Ideas page, and it's already making waves after just 10 days of being on the site. Considering Metroid Prime 4 just released, now is the perfect time to get behind this set and make it a reality - how cool would it be to have this next to the Switch 2 every time you played the game?

Like the Sega Genesis controller or this Star Fox LEGO Ideas set, Samus' helmet is more of a showpiece than a toy. It's designed for '90s kids like me who grew up playing Super Metroid to sit and look at while procrastinating or playing games, as opposed to rolling around the carpet with characters from the LEGO movie. It's a great piece with perfectly chosen colours and one that won't take an age to build.
As with all LEGO Ideas sets, there are certain milestones that need to be met to make them a reality. RockMonstrosity achieved 100 supporters in just two days and now has 414 days to get to the next milestone of 1,000. They are currently on 370, so I'm sure it won't take long to get there. LEGO Ideas sets need to get 10,000 votes before they're considered by LEGO, so let's get behind Samus and RockMonstrosity to make this set a reality!
Supporting a LEGO Ideas project is free, so head over to the official page now and pledge your support!
