The highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. Movie just release today and the pre-order pages for the DVD and Blu-ray have already started to appear online.
You might not have been able to check out the new film in theaters (I’m seeing it in the morning!), but you might want to book your home DVD copy now.
Universal and Illumination are anticipating a huge weekend for the film. In fact, they expect to rake in over $125 million in ticket sales. That would make it the biggest opening weekend of 2023 so far.
And rightly so.. they put a ton of work into the film’s production and promotion.
Heck, they even made a couple bucks from Brandon of Retro Dodo last week when he picked up the entire Mario x Lush bath line.
Let’s just go ahead and add the Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD to the wishlist.
Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD / Blu-ray / 4k Steelbook
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is going to be released in three different home versions: DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in a special Steelbook hard case which can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
The DVD and Blu-ray are exactly what you’d expect for those home formats.
It’s that 4k Ultra HD version that’s gonna be quite special. Those are all coming in a special steelbook hard case, which makes them a perfect collectible item.
There’s even a super ultra special Limited Edition Tin Star Edition for the hardcore collectors available at HMV.
Obviously that’s the way to go if you want to have the most special and most limited version of the Super Mario Bros. Movie for your home movie collection.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie home DVDs are currently pre-sale items, but they are expected to ship around June.
It’s never really too soon to secure your pre-sale, especially with how quick stuff seems to sell out lately.
Needless to say, we are aiming for one of the 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray versions of the Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD.
Which are you planning on picking up?
