I still can't believe that in 2025, we're getting new games for a console that released back in 1998 with such a short reign, but here we are. Heck, I think I'm more excited about the Dreamcast than I am the Nintendo Switch 2!

The ports that we've had coming to the Dreamcast of late have been wild, from Sonic Mania and Star Fox 64 to Mario Kart 64. It's been getting lots of amazing releases from the homebrew and modding communities, and now it's got a new original title from Iced Lizard Games available to download, burn onto a disc, and play on your Dreamcast.

Mute Crimson is a sidescrolling ninja platform game that has a feel of Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia, and Stick Ninja. As noted by Dreamcast lover Falco Girgis, it appears to run solidly at 60FPS on the Dreamcast and has VMU compatibility as well as brilliant hand-drawn cutscenes and some in-depth animations to keep gamers entertained.

According to Iced Lizard Games, this is a DC port of the game they released on Steam back in 2024. It has 9 worlds, all with boss fights, and an authentic chiptune soundtrack. You can save your game as long as you have 4 blocks available, with the option to play in 4:3 or anamorphic widescreen. There's also an easy mode if you're struggling, and judging by the gameplay on Falco's X post, it looks like we might all need it!
