Retroid seem to be releasing new information every day about the upcoming Pocket Nova handheld, making me believe it's going to be available to pre-order quicker than we anticipated, just in time to counter ANBERNIC's RG 55G1 and the upcoming Pocket Micro 2 by AYANEO.
The race is on to get retro gamers' money before the Q4 Christmas madness, and with that, Retroid has already revealed the CPU they will be using in the upcoming 4:3 retro handheld. That CPU is a Qualcomm QCS8550, and it's being paired with a Adren0 740 GPU also.

Like many comments on their posts, I was a little shocked to see such a powerful spec paired with a 4:3 display. My initial thoughts were that this device would be "affordable" after Retroid stated that "no second mortgage is required". To me, any handheld company saying this means I'd expect it to be under $200, but I think I'm wrong.
It looks like Retroid are going the other way and is in fact trying to create the ultimate 4:3 retro handheld with enough power to get you through upscaled PS2 emulation, and an array of high-demanding Android games. If they can do all that, which the specs suggest they can, for under $200 i'd be darn impressed.

A member of our Discord server also mentioned that they got in touch with Retroid and asked if the Pocket Nova would be compatible with the dual-screen attachment that many have used on the Pocket 5/6, and Retroid has confirmed it will infact work, which is great to hear and will certainly entise Nintendo DS fans to explore that library, and who knows, maybe the specs will emulate 3DS well too!
