Team17 are back, and they've announced a brand new Worms game called Galactic Gauntlet with Roguelike elements. I know, a Roguelike Worms game is a big curveball, but I'm excited to see where the series could go! But it's a short 11-second clip at the end of the trailer that has got me more excited, showing a classic worm holding a sign saying 'also in development '. I say 'classic worm' because this guy has no bells and whistles on him, just like the Worms in the good old days, and there's also the original Worms logo in the background.

The clip, which you'll see if you watch the video below, shows a worm firing a missile at a sign that then squashes it, followed by a happy-looking guy who seems oblivious to everything sliding onto the screen. I think it's likely that if Galactic Gauntlet is going down the Roguelike route and it might not be to everyone's taste, then Team17 will be able to capitalise on nostalgia and make a remake of the original Worms to capture any fans that might have 'slipped through the marketing net', so to speak.

I do think Team17 are on to a winner here, because everyone who likes Galactic Gauntlet is 100% going to buy a remake of the original Worms when it launches too. I can't imagine it would take too long to make a remake of the original game either, especially with all of the assets from Galactic Gauntlet being present and ready to roll. I can imagine that they'll add some quality-of-life features into the mix to spice things up a bit, but hopefully the original gameplay will still be the same and provide all the same challenges.
As of now, all we know is that it's 'in development', but I'll let you know as soon as I hear more!
