Did you ever wonder where ElectricYellow was when we got FireRed and LeafGreen? It's an odd one, isn't it? I mean, FireRed is one of the best and most coveted GBA games of all time, and I know Nintendo were paying homage to the original Pokémon games with these releases, but they would have made a killing if we had had a remake of Pokémon Yellow for the GBA too.

Pokémon Classic gives Pokémon Yellow the GBA Remake treatment and gives a nostalgic adventure a brand new look. Danirainbow describes this hack as 'A love letter to Kanto, and a remake of Pokémon Yellow made in the Emerald engine.' It looks fantastic as a GBA game, with Pikachu following along behind you and enhanced graphics that bring Yellow in line with FireRed and LeafGreen.

The hack has tonnes of new features too, like an expanded storyline, new post-game content, daily events for you to take part in, and a lot of bug fixes. You'll need a legally acquired ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald to get the game up and running, but then you can experience a version of Pokémon Yellow that brings it kicking and screaming if not quite into the future, then the not-too-distant past.

Head to Hackdex for more information and to patch the hack onto your legally acquired ROM!
