If you know your Pokémon ROM hacks, then you'll know all about Koolboyman's Pokémon Brown, widely regarded as the first complete ROM hack to host a brand new region and new elements. It released over two decades ago back in 2004 and has spurred so many creators on to create new fan games. Without Pokémon Brown, it would be safe to say that we wouldn't have the Pokémon Fallout ROM hack I wrote about earlier, or even classics like Pokémon Unbound.

Back in May, I wrote about Pokémon Brown finally getting a 3D version, something that those of you who have become obsessed with the Dramatic Shape Voxel Mod will be very excited to check out. Now, it's got some great new features like an easy-to-use installer, bug fixes that make it much more playable, and a whole host of minor improvements in the latest Version 1.1.0 update.

RainbowDevs who are leading the charge with Pokémon Brown 3D have added in cool options like disabling abilities for all Pokémon when starting a new game, improving items like the Pokémon Item Finder, and replacing certain potions and drinks with the GameMode variations. There have been fixes to characters, maps, and settings, as well as a new music pack that improves the music when battling the champion.
Pokémon 3D Brown brings the region of Rijon (which is a bit of a tongue twister) to life in such an amazing way, bringing overworld battling, Pokémon following you around as you explore, a day/night cycle, overworld battling, and now multiplayer adventuring!
