The time has come (finally!) for a new TimeSplitters game! Those of you that have been thinking about shifting forwards in time to try and find news of the long awaited release can step away from your home-made portals and return to the sofa!

TimeSplitters fans have had it rough. They’ve had to deal with whispers, false promises, and internet rumours for years. We’ve wanted another game in the series for so long now, but nothing has ever materialised…

… until now!

Everything We Know About The New TimeSplitters Game!

New TimeSplitters Game - monkey graphic

Deep Silver are bringing back TimeSplitters, and the team behind the title’s creation is a new company comprising of developers who worked on the original classics!

Free Radical Design features all of the genius of the original TimeSplitters creators together in one epic force. I’m no expert, but I think that’s like when all of the rings of power are brought together.

Maybe I’m getting my franchises mixed up, but this sounds like it could be one game to rule them all!

Who Are Free Radical Design?

Free Radical Design are making the new TimeSplitters game. All the developers worked on the previous TimeSplitters games, so we know that the new entry is going to stay true to the games roots and be an absolute blinder to play.

Lets get this classic first-person shooter back in peoples consoles where it belongs and not lost to the ether!

The original founders of the game, Steve Ellis and David Doak, are back in the saddle to make sure that this game delivers everything that the fans want. In a recent interview, Free Radical Design Director Ellis had this to say;

“To finally be able to confirm that the studio has been formed and that we have a plan for the next TimeSplitters game is incredible. While we cannot tell you anything more at the moment, we look forward to sharing information in the future.”

What Consoles Will The New TimeSplitters Game Be Available For?

I’ve loved this series ever since I first played TimeSplitters 2 on my GameCube back in the day. Since then, I’ve played all three games to death since then, but I have a sneaky suspicion that Nintendo fans won’t be seeing the new title for a while yet…

… not until the Nintendo Switch Pro arrives, at any rate.

It’s been a slow and boring process of rights being passed from pillar to post and nothing happening for years. Still, we’re hoping that the PS5 and Xbox Series X should see releases by 2023.

Final Thoughts…

With Ellis and Doak running the show, we’re confident that this new TimeSplitters game is going to be a credit to the canon. All the talks and rumours of remakes and upgrades can do one; this is going to be a proper brand new game with exciting features for us to sink our teeth into.

That’s all the info that we’ve gleaned from Deep Silver at the moment, but keep coming back for more information on price, release date, and what makes this game tick as and when we get it!
