How long have I been saying that I want this to happen? It's felt like years of me constantly saying, 'Star Fox Adventure needs more love'. Well, it seems like Nintendo finally listened, because they're bringing it to Switch 2 on Nintendo Switch Online. Right after the news of a new update for Star Fox, they announced that Star Fox Adventures is going to be on NSO later today, which means I know what I'm going to be doing now for the rest of the day!
Star Fox Adventures differs from the traditional Star Fox formula by having Fox McCloud take part in a platformer, wielding a cane and attacking enemies. There are also sections where you can fight in different vehicles and the Arwing, but it's first and foremost a platformer and one of the best on the GameCube. I've loved this game for years, and finally more people will be able to check it out via Nintendo Switch 2!
Pairing up with Tricky the Dinosaur, you'll battle General Scales' army on Dinosaur Planet. It's a fantastic game with lots of different mechanics, a brilliant storyline, and some very memorable characters. It looks like Nintendo have included a widescreen mode too, which will be very appreciated. I love playing this game on my GameCube, but if there are some quality-of-life features as well as the option of making save states as and when I want, it will make the game much more exciting. Plus, playing handheld is what I'm all about these days - this on the sofa with a cup of tea is going to be perfect!
You'll need to have Nintendo Switch Online and be an Expansion subscriber, as well as have a Nintendo Switch 2 to play!
