We've been waiting a long time for a new Jet Set Radio game. It's been 26 years since the original game released on Dreamcast and 24 years since Jet Set Radio Future came into our lives on the Xbox. Sega have assured fans that they're still working on reviving some of their most beloved IPs, with JSR being one that's coming back to the fold, and a leaked trailer online has further fuelled rumours that it could almost be ready to rollerblade.
Trailers generally get people excited. Ok, they're usually a little more high-res than this one and without watermarks covering up everything, but they tend to create some hubbub and interest amongst fans of the series. There are always exceptions, however... I'll let you watch the trailer first before I go on.

What did you think? I've been reading the comments on the trailer, and while some fans are simply excited to have a new Jet Set Radio game arriving, others aren't so convinced.
For many, the change in art style has meant that the game has lost its trademark feel, the graphical style that made it so popular in the first place. One X user commented, I love it when they strip the game of its visual identity and replace it with UE5 garbage, top-notch stuff, huh,' with many others calling it 'slop' and complaining about the change in art style.
Still, the promise of a storyline and the characters having a big part to play in the new game has die-hard fans feeling excited about the trailer, though a little less so about the inclusion of this Pomni person's watermark in the mix. I have to admit, it would have been good to hear the characters talking and to get a feel of what the story would be like, but I guess beggars can't be choosers, and at least we've got something to get us excited as we wait for an official release.
Also, why is it less than potato quality? I'd say it's turnip quality, and no one wants that!
Sega confirmed that Jet Set Radio would be coming alongside Golden Axe and Crazy Taxi when they announced that their Super Game was being cancelled. If they play their cards right, these releases could usher in a new age for Sega, but if they change up the graphics a little too much like they have here, they might annoy fans too much and ruin their chances to get back to where they belong at the top of the retro gaming scene.
