Sega has been teasing their Super Game for a while now, though none of us have actually been 'super clear' about what it was. It was reportedly coming out at the end of March 2026 after a five-year development period, but after seeing Sega Sammy's presentation about Sega's financial results, it has been confirmed that the company is cancelling the Super Game completely.
It comes after Sega's move away from free-to-play games, with plans to put more people to work on full game development and the revivals of classic franchises such as Streets of Rage, Jet Set Radio, and Golden Axe.

Have Sega bitten off a little bit more than they can chew with the Super Game? From what we've gathered, there were plans for it to be a global online experience. I'm thinking along the lines of how big Fortnite is, but after the disappointing performance of Sonic Rumble Party, it's no wonder they've pulled the plug on F2P titles.
Sega had banked on Super Game bringing in a whopping 100 billion yen over its lifetime, a pipe dream that is sadly no more. It remains to be seen whether the revivals of Sega's classic range can bring in the financial boost it needs, or whether they're going to have a couple of tough years ahead!
