The cutest zombie-slayer in gaming is officially returning, and she's bringing her chainsaw with her. Juliet is officially back after an announcement of a playable demo of a brand-new game appearing at the Tokyo Game Show this year. From Thursday 17th until Monday 21st September, gamers will be able to head down and check out Juliet's new title in person, experiencing all of the chainsaw hack-and-slash madness firsthand.
It's the first new game in the series since the original title came out in 2012. We've only actually ever had that first game, followed by a remaster in 2024. It's the success of the remaster that's brought Dragami Games and NADA Holdings to make a new title, giving fans more action in Juliet's weird and wonderful world.
Launch trailer for the original game
For those of you who have never played Lollipop Chainsaw, it's a bit of a weird concept. A cheerleader gets a chainsaw and fights off zombies with her boyfriend's head attached to her skirt. Yes, her boyfriend is a disembodied head that you can put onto Zombies in certain parts of the game. It's bat-expletive-crazy, but it's great!
There's a lot of 'B-Movie' kind of humour in this game. It's crude and goes for shock value, a little like watching films like American Pie and Road Trip. Still, gamers love it, and there's a serious cult following for Juliet's antics. It's unknown at this time whether Nick is going to appear again or not, or whether the game will be as crude and have as many 'inappropriate references'. Those visiting the Tokyo Game Show will be able to find out before the rest of the world, the latter of which I am sadly a part of. Still, I don't have long to wait until the footage is released to the internet, and I'll be sure to show you all here when it does!
