LEGO have been diving into the world of gaming for a while now and creating the ultimate crossovers for Nintendo and Sega fans. We've had Mario Kart figures, Genesis controllers, and a Pikachu set that was leaked by LEGO Mexico which was later confirmed by LEGO themselves.

Now, a set that is rumoured to be set 72153, aka the Kanto Pokémon starters Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander consisting of 6,848 pieces, could be on the way as the next set.

Though if the rumours shared by Brick Fanatics are true, then it's also coming with a pricetag of $649.99. That would make this set the most expensive LEGO set on the market, though if the set does have all three characters, then you could technically think of it as being $216 per figure... which is still insanely expensive no matter which way you look at it.

Despite the fact that we've had many Pokémon games since Red and Blue (or Red and Green, depending on where you grew up), the Kanto starters are still the most iconic out of the bunch. And with close to 7,000 pieces, the figurines are all going to be a decent size too!

The pricetag of $650 makes this something that only collectors are going to be able to afford to buy, and I get a strong feeling that they're probably not even going to get the LEGO out of the box and build these figurines, choosing instead to wait until the sets have sold out and selling them on for extortionate prices. LEGO should be played with, and kids who love Pokémon today are sadly never going to be able to afford this set. Most 90s kids won't be able to grab it either, come to think of it!

Of course, these rumours need to be taken with a pinch of salt for now as nothing has been confirmed by LEGO themselves, though the Danish block giants are usually quick to release information once rumours do start to circulate. So hopefully, I'll have some more concrete information to give you in a few days time.

Until then, check out Dave Holder's LEGO creations below and get your LEGO Pokémon fill!
