Pokemon is really spoiling us at the moment – having just come out of a Blissey Tera Raid Event, another is imminent, this time to catch Samurott. You can’t catch Samurott any other way, so it’s time to learn how to get Samurott in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Found in the Unova region, Samurott is an evolution of Dewott, and is a Water Type. But in this latest Tera Raid, which takes place from the 31st of March til the 2nd of April, Samurott will have a unique Tera Type.

Want to know what it is, and what Tera crystals to look out for? Then you’ve got to keep on reading…!

How To Get Samurott In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

To catch Samurott you need to take part in a 7-Star Tera Raid from the 31st of March to the 2nd of April; the event will appear as a black Tera Crystal on your Paldea map.

If you read my how to get Decidueye in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet guide, you’ll know exactly what these crystals look like. But if you’re a bit stumped, allow me to explain:

7-Star Raids are only available after you complete all post game stories, meaning you need to have completed the Academy Ace Tournament and defeated the Gym Leaders for the second time.

On top of that, you also need to have participated in both 5 and 6-Star Tera Raids previously for 7-Star Raids to unlock. If you’ve yet to do that, you’re in for a hard slog before this event starts.

Still, that hard work will be worth it, as not only do you get a high level Pokemon currently unavailable in Paldea, but said ‘mon comes with the Mightiest Mark, and is a Bug Tera Type

If you miss out, or need more time to level up, don’t worry because this Tera Raid Event will repeat from the 7th of April to the 9th of April

Regardless of which set of dates you attempt to get Samurott, remember that you can only catch one per save file; this is the same with all 7-Star Tera Raids, but it bears repeating nonetheless.

Hopefully, when we next meet on the shores of Paldea, you’ll have an awesome new Samurott! And if you’re looking for more elusive Pokemon to catch, you might want to read all about the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC revealed in February.

Oh, and if your team needs some revamping ready for this epic Tera Raid, I’d suggest finding out what the best team in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is.
