How To Get Frigibax In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (The Easy Way)

how to get frigibax in pokemon scarlet violet

We might have a new contender for the best Dragon type Pokemon of all time: Frigibax!

Despite looking more like a big nosed frog standing on its hind legs, this compact creature is a new Dragon/Ice type for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Looking at you with big, yellow eyes makes for an incredibly cute Pokemon that we must protect at all costs. But to protect it we need to find it, which is where the problem begin. You see, Frigibax is a rare Pokemon.

The Pokedex states it’s “very rarely seen”, meaning you will need to search far and wide across the snowy tops of Glaseado Mountain to spot it. And even then, your efforts could prove fruitless.

Unless you use my easy-peasy how to get Frigibax guide. I know, it’s a shameless plug of my exceptional trainer skills, but I can assure you it will make catching Frigibax much easier.

Where To Catch Frigibax In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Frigibax can be found on Glaseado Mountain, in the northern region of Paldea.

Its location isn’t an easily accessible destination for those just starting out. Not only is it far away from your home in Cabo Poco, but Glaseado Mountain is home to some high level Pokemon.

This means you have one of two choices: wait until you’re a higher level, or run for your life and try to avoid running into super tough Pokemon.

However, even if you successfully avoid fainting while climbing the mountain, Frigibax is likely to be a higher level than you’re able to catch. And so Frigibax might just be a Pokemon you have to wait until later in the game for. Sorry, folks!

Other locations you can get Frigibax include:

  • Dalizapa Passage
  • East Province (Area Two)

The East Province location falls right on the border between East Province (Area Two) and East Province (Area Three), making it an extremely minute spot to try your luck in.

Regardless of which spots you brave to find Frigibax, a clever way to increase your chances is to fly to Medali and purchase the Escalivada from the Go-For-Broke Grill. This meal raises your Encounter Power for Dragon types to Level 1.

I used this method and it worked wonders. In fact, after eating this meal Glaseado Mountain was swarming with Frigibax.

How to Evolve Frigibax In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Evolve Frigibax into Arctibax at Level 35.

I found Frigibax at Level 37, so I had to wait until it hit Level 38 for it to evolve – just be mindful of this to avoid panicking that something is wrong.

The golden rule here is to eat some Escalivada, then you’ll be inundated with Frigibax!

If you’d like to catch yourself another rare Pokemon, you need to learn how to get Eevee. There’s a special Tera Raid Event happening right now that heavily increases their spawn rates.

Oh, and be sure to stop by the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet mystery gift codes list to see if there’s any new exclusives to download.
