Gex fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting more details on the return of gaming's most famous gecko, and now Limited Run Games have finally announced the release date of the new collection as well as the three collector's bundles that are dropping. Pre-orders for the physical editions are open from today, May 9th, 2025, at 10 am EDT, with the games releasing on PC and consoles digitally from June 16th. And yes, the Tail Time package comes with a 36" inflatable Gex doll... because why not!
We spoke to the Limited Run Games team about bringing Gex back for modern audiences and some of the quality of life features that will be coming to the games like upscaling, rewind (thanks Jordan Mechner for creating that!) and being able to save anywhere. My favourite Gex Game, Gex: Enter the Gecko alongside Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko, both now support 16:9 widescreen with full 360 analogue controls too!
First up in the release bundle collection is the standard edition, priced at $39.99 is simply a boxed edition of the game collection with all three games on it. You'll also get a booklet for those old-school vibes.
Then there's the classic collection, which costs $79.99. It comes with a Retro-style PS1 box to take you straight back to the 90s, a steelbook, a double-sided poster of Gex, and a soundtrack CD with selected songs from the Gex games.
The Tall Time Edition is the ultimate Gex collectors' package with a premium price of $199.99. As well as everything in the classic edition (minus the select soundtrack in favour of a Full Soundtrack CD), you'll get a 36” inflatable Gex doll, a 7” Gex statue, Gex trading cards, a remote pin, and a collector’s box with artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
