Driver Turns A Game Boy Color Into A Reversing Camera

I've seen miniature Game Boys used as speedometers on bikes and watches in the likeness of the Sega Game Gear. I've even seen people installing consoles into their cars so they can sit and play PS2 while waiting for their kids to finish school, but I've not seen a Game Boy Color reversing camera before.

Instagram user Chen has been showing off their new reversing camera setup, adding some 90s nostalgia whenever backing into tight spaces or nailing those parallel parks. It's the kind of nerdy thing accessory that instantly takes me back to playing Pokémon Gold in the garden at home when I was a kid when I should have been doing my homework – good times.

In reality, it's an aftermarket Game Boy Color case placed around a reversing camera, but it still adds a nice touch of nostalgia to your morning commute and is a cool focal piece for any car. You could do the same thing with your GBA or original DMG too, although the DMG might end up pulling your dashboard off it's that hefty!

I really like it when we add a little bit of the culture of our youth into every day 'adult' things. Can you remember when we covered the real-life Little Tikes Cosy Coupe made by The Car Zoo? I imagine if you had kids it would be a great car to head out on family road trips in... maybe I can convince Brandon to get one for his family just so I can take it out for a spin every now and again!
