It was only this morning that ModRetro teased the upcoming transparent Chromatics, unofficially in a firmware update email that suggested a "new product in October" with subtle hits to words such as "transparent" and clear. We kinda knew it was coming because it was teased on their website homepage too, but a new video from Logan Paul shows a new colourway, and the confirmation that its on its way.
Logan Paul uploaded a short-form video today calling out a Pokémon fan who called him a "larper" In this video, he's showing footage of Pokémon Gold/Silver on what looks like a transparent green ModRetro Chromatic, which lines up with ModRetro's upcoming announcements.
This means we have a transparent purple and a transparent green Chromatic on its way in October, confirmed by the one and only Logan Paul, who has promoted ModRetro products in the past. This makes me believe that the Chromatic colourways may follow the M64 colourways, which kinda makes sense.
It's also likely that this device will be priced more affordably in comparison to ModRetro's metal and sapphire glass versions that are $200+. This would be a good business move and will directly compete with the Analogue Pocket, and maybe outprice it too if they can get it right!
