Table of Contents
1. Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Zero Dawn has been one of our favourite single player games ever.
The storyline was superb, the character relationships grew naturally, and the gaming mechanics alongside the world exploration made it timeless.
Now, Guerilla Games are back with a sequel called Horizon Forbidden West. It continues Aloy’s story as she moves west to a far-future America to brave a majestic, but dangerous frontier where she’ll face awe-inspiring machines and mysterious new threats.
It looks as if many new features have been teased throughout the reveal trailer, one being a series of new beasts to destroy including a ginormous Elephant that looks as though it came straight out of Lord of The Rings!
Also, swimming and water exploration could be a new way to explore the world, all while trying to rid the land of disease.
We are very excited about this one, and if this one is as good as Horizon Zero Dawn, it’ll be one of the best PS5 games to pick up.
Horizon Forbidden West Release Date: 2021
2. Spider-Man: Miles Morales

One of Sony’s most popular exclusive games has been Spider-Man, which was released in 2018 and blew everyone away with its graphics and swinging mechanics.
Now it’s back with a twist.
Spider-Man: Mile Morales is going to be one of the best PS5 games to pick up early. It’s an action-adventure game based in New York with a new main character: Miles Morales.
A year after the first game and its DLC, Miles has fully integrated himself into the black and red suit as an experienced Spider-Man. He’s got his hands full defending both his new home in Harlem and the rest of New York City from a gang war between the Roxxon energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army lead by the Tinkerer.
Parker tells Miles that he has to be like his late father and walk on the path to becoming a hero for the city of New York.
The fighting mechanics and exploration looks incredibly detailed, allowing you to fight for hours on end without getting bored.
This is one for you die-hard Marvel fans out there.

3. Hogwarts Legacy

Have you ever wished for a Skyrim/Harry Potter hybrid? No, us neither, but it’s something we didn’t know we wanted until we saw it!
Hogwarts Legacym made by Warner Bros Studios, is probably the most surprising new game of our best PS5 games list.
This one felt like it had been magicked out of thin air, and we couldn’t be happier.
Hogwarts Legacy is a magical, open-world RPG game based in the 1800s at Hogwarts. It let’s you take control of the action and play as a student in the centre of an immersive wizarding world.
You can explore new locations, discover fantastic beasts, pimp out your character, craft potions, learn new spells, upgrade talents, and become that Wizard you’ve always wanted to be.
The world, the graphics, and the magic look incredibly detailed, and even though it’s not an exclusive PS5 title, it will be one of the best PS5 games for those who love their RPG’s.

Very little information has been revealed about that last bit, but you can expect a next-gen Zombie mode ready to consume your hours very soon!.

5. Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI is the newest entry in the series, and it’s coming to the PS5.
It’s an all-new standalone single-player action RPG produced by Naoki Yoshida and directed by Hiroshi Takai.
Yoshida said this on his Playstation blog:
“The exclusive footage, comprised of both battles and cutscenes running in real-time, represents but a fraction of what our team has accomplished since the start of development on this, an all-new Final Fantasy game,” Yoshida writes. ” In that span, the team’s size has grown from a handful of core members to a full-fledged unit that continues to polish and build upon what they have created so far, all to provide players an experience unmatched in terms of story and gameplay.”
While there’s not much news on the what the game is about or what storyline they’re going to go down, it does show some of the graphics, animations, and world that you’ll be exploring.
The game will push the PS5 to the limits, and that’s the kinda gameplay we want from a new Final Fantasy game; something that makes you go “wow”.
Final Fantasy XVI Release Date: 2021/2022
6. God of War: Ragnarok

God Of War was one of the best games for the Playstation 4, hands down. The graphics, the storyline, the lore. Everything was perfect… until it ended.
People wanted more, be it DLC or a new game; they just wanted more.
Now that wish has been answered, even though we have to wait until 2021.
The only information we received regarding the release was this symbol here. It shows the infamous God of War logo with Ragnarok engraved. The blue colour suggests what we think is lightning, and if you stayed to watch the end credits in God of War, you’ll most likely know who the main villain is.
But we don’t want to spoil that for you!
God Of War: Ragnarok Release Date: 2021
7. Cyberpunk 2077

The only way you haven’t heard of Cyberpunk 2077 is if you’ve been living under a rock, or self-isolating for 6 months without internet… or both.
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be one of the biggest and best ps5 games of the year, and even though it’s going to be on PS4 too, it’s worth upgrading to the PS5 version in order to experience the game in its fullest form.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.
You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality.
Projekt Red are responsible for the Witcher series, and as you well know, that’s one of the best open-world console games of all time. They’re now going into the future with a highly customisable, incredibly detailed game that will entice millions into buying it.
This is one of our personal favourites of the list, and we’ve been waiting for it for some while now.

8. Resident Evil: Village

Capcom has finally released a new trailer for another Resident Evil. This time it’s called Resident Evil: Village, and it’s not following the normal look and feel of their older games.
A direct follow-up to Resident Evil 7, it sees Ethan Winters being lead to a weird, mysterious village after his wife is killed.
Rumours suggest that Resident Evil: Village could be a departure from their older game formula, which many old school gamers will dislike. It’s focusing on hallucinations, occultism and insanity.
So, sounds like a light-hearted title then, eh!
Nobody knows how that’s going to turn out, but the trailer shows what weird and wonderful things we might see next year.
Resident Evil Village Release Date: 2021
9. Death Loop

Yes, Bethesda has published a new game, but it’s not a new Elder Scrolls. Instead, it’s a first-person shooter that wants you… to die?
Like, a lot!
Deathloop for PS5 transports you to the mysterious island of Blackreef, where an eternal struggle between two extraordinary assassins will determine the island’s future.
As Colt, you must find a way to put an end to the time-loop trapping the island in an endless cycle. All while being hunted by the island’s inhabitants.
Using your powerful weapons and abilities, you’ll need to take out 8 key targets across the stunning, yet chaotic, island. You will have to take them out before the day resets in order to break the loop once and for all.
You will need patience with this one as you try to make different attempts at how to finish your mission.
We’re liking the style that Bethesda is putting out here, and twinned with the fast-paced sound track, it makes it one of our best PS5 games to grab.
Death Loop Release Date: 2021
10. Oddworld Soulstorm

We just had to add Oddworld Soulstorm into our best PS5 games list, not only because it will genuinely be a great game, but because it’s nostalgic.
There’s nothing we like more than a retro game here at Retro Dodo!
Oddworld Soulstorm is developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and takes a new approach to the old school games, with puzzles, choices, and obstacles that keep you on your toes.
Witness Abe’s horrifying conflict with a terrifying new machination. A fresh narrative which has a complete story retake inspired by the original tale.
There’s also a big visual and cinematic leap aiming to break new ground for Oddworld.
Not only that, but there are intelligent new mechanics, twisted new devices enabling highly explosive deviousness, and a dark parable that tells an epic tale of a volatile society pushed to its limits.
This is a quirky game, but no doubt it will do well, because Oddworld has been played for decades.
So there you have it, a look at our best PS5 games for you to get your hands on.
