I've sat and watched excitedly as some of my favourite Nintendo characters and games have been immortalised in LEGO form. Mario and the NES, Link in the final battle from Ocarina of Time, Mario in his iconic Kart, Super Mario Land via the LEGO Game Boy. And yet at the back of my mind I've had one thought that has refused to leave my head - when are LEGO going to realise that they need a Banjo-Kazooie set too?

Banjo-Kazooie remains one of my favourite games of all time and one of the greatest games to grace the N64. I made so many memories with this game, playing it with my Mum on an evening after school, waking up on a weekend and grabbing my controller alongside a bowl of Weetabix to do everything I could to thwart Gruntilda and her evil plans. It's why I'm such a huge fan of Kurko Mod's work and am still putting hours into Jiggies of Time!

While LEGO haven't taken the plunge (yet), LEGO Ideas creator Mike, aka Avid Builder, has created a fantastic set that pays homage to the iconic bear and bird duo, celebrating one of Rare's greatest achievements in a piece that captures the true essence of the game in 641 pieces and sends my nostalgia senses into overdrive.

Just take a look at the pictures in this article and tell me you're not excited. They're standing on a Golden Jiggy, for crying out loud! There's also a LEGO brick Musical Note, a Blue Egg, and a set of Red Feathers, all important collectibles in the game.

Banjo has posable arms and hands, and Kazooie's head, wings, and crest can be moved into different positions, allowing you to recreate moments from the game. The base of the set itself feels like it's been dug up from outside Banjo's house in Spiral Mountain; the design is perfect.

As with all LEGO Ideas projects, Mike has a set number of days to reach different milestones. The set went live yesterday (March 24th, 2026) and has 59 days left to reach 100 supporters. It's already on 62 supporters now that I've cast my vote!
Ultimately, it will need to reach 10,000 supporters before the design is put in front of the LEGO Ideas judges, who will decide whether it becomes a set or not. Depending on how fast it gets there is down to you guys, so if you want to see a Banjo-Kazooie LEGO set hitting shop shelves, then head over to LEGO Ideas and show your support for free.
Let's bring Mike's creation to life and show some love for one of the N64's defining duos!
