Back in February of 2025, we sat down with some of the original team from Argonaut Games who worked on the very first Croc game on the PS1 and spoke to them about their upcoming Croc remaster. When we asked Argonaut's founder Jez San about whether we would be seeing Croc 2 being remade in the near future, he told us that they would love to see it happen, but Croc 1 had to do the numbers first. Well, it seems that it's happening, because Argonaut have released a new trailer with footage from their Croc 2 remake, and it's looking amazing!

Visually, it looks fantastic, and to be honest, I always preferred the gameplay in the second Croc game anyway. There was more to it and more action, what with Croc racing around in cars and flying through the air after taking a leaf out of his mate Spyro's book (I like to think that they were mates, at any rate).

Argonaut tested out so many different ideas with the first game and had to rush to get the joystick controls ready for the game's release. It ended up being a little janky, and that reflected in our review of the remake too. It had all of the good and bad points of the original game, which, while mi help our nostalgia, was a little annoying, it has to be said.

I'm hoping that the Croc 2 remaster is much smoother and keeping everything crossed that the second run-in with Baron Dante scores higher than the first game when I review it. The Crocopedia is back too, this time called the 'Croc2pedia', featuring interviews with people who worked on the game and lots of artwork and facts for Croc fans to soak up.

There isn't any information on when the game will release - the video doesn't even have any information in the description. It seems Argonaut are letting Croc do all the advertising himself, and it's worked - I'm well excited to play this when it releases! The game is heading to PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Steam, and is available to wishlist on GOG.com!
