I mean, the first thing I would have tried was something like Electric Callboy or Polaris instead of the Vengaboys, but I can see why English Ben picked it for the bouncy vibes in the video below. Yes, Vice City Bounce could be the weirdest GTA mod of all time, and rather than adding new elements into the game or giving you extra levels, it simply makes everything bounce to the beat of your chosen song.

The mod, which has been created by tek-95, lets you upload whatever song you want, autodetects the beat, and then moves, stretches, and bounces all of the assets in the game while you listen to your tunes. The clip below shows all the characters in the intro to the game bouncing and jiving along to Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom by the Vengaboys. It makes the speech about Tommy Vercetti seem a little less impactful, but it's funny to watch.

The mod is available for Windows users and is simple to use. You just need:

  • Classic GTA Vice City Steam
  • Windows 10/11 x64
  • An ASI loader that loads plugins from scripts.
  • When you're ready, download the mod, close the game, and copy its scripts contents into the game's scripts folder. Keep your existing ViceBounce.ini when updating.

To get your own music into the game, you'll need to press F11 and select a music file, either MP3, WAC, FLAC, or OGG. It doesn't upload your music but runs it while playing the mod. The beat detection should kick in and work automatically, but there'sa manual option to fine-tune the syncing if you think it's a little off.

Claude has been listed as a contributor in this project, so that will instantly help you decide if you want to check it out or not. I'm not sure how much of an involvement it's had in creating the game, but tek-95 has spoken about fusing Minecraft and Skyrim together, so I'm going to guess it's been used for a lot of the processes involved.

You can download the mod from GitHub to get started.
