We should have given the PS Vita way more praise back in the day. It gets overlooked a lot these days in favour of the PSP, but it was such an impressive handheld way ahead of its time. That's become even more apparent now that Halo: Combat Evolved is up and running on it!
Combat Evolved has been at the forefront of many gamer's minds at the minute, thanks to the game's revival through the newly released Campaign Evolved (which looks amazing, if you haven't tested it out). And with the rise of AI-assisted coding flowing through our scene at the minute, we're getting more and more recomps and ports of games heading to different systems on a daily basis.

The video posted on X by Isidro shows the game loading up, the title screen, and selection screens. They've said that it's very much a work in progress at the minute, which is further solidified by the fact that we haven't seen any gameplay as of yet. Still, it's a start!
As of this moment, I don't know how much AI has played a part in the process; whether it's assisted Isidro as a tool or whether the entire thing has been vibe-coded or not. I'm waiting until there are more details released on a GitHub page to let us know the ins and outs of the project and who has contributed to it, but I'll be monitoring its progress over the next couple of weeks to let you know more!
In other Halo news, it's recently been ported to the 3DS and into your browser for playing on the go, no matter where you are!
