While playing through the levels of Sonic Superstars you will collect plenty of rings and rings can be found everywhere from Bonus Stages and Special Stages to Warp Games and everything in between.
There isn’t a way to track how many rings you’ve collected in the game so just enjoy yourself and smile when this trophy or achievement eventually pops.
25. Two Birds, One Stone
- Criteria – Use the Goal Plate to reveal the hidden Item Box
You can earn this trophy through dumb luck if the Goal Plate spawns the Item Box as you complete Act 1 of most stages however there is a guaranteed way to make the Goal Plate reveal the hidden Item Box in Sonic Superstars.
We recommend trying this on Bridge Island Zone Act 1 as it’s the first level of the game and arguably the easiest one to play through repeatedly if you aren’t able to get the Item Box to spawn.
Firstly, complete the level as usual, but when you reach the end of the Act, take care to not rush straight past the Goal Plate and instead stay near enough to bounce the Goal Plate into the air.
Continue to jump and bounce the Goal Plate until it lands directly in front of the giant penguin to the right of the screen. This should cause the Goal Plate to reveal the hidden Item Box while unlocking the ‘Two Birds, One Stone’ trophy or achievement.
26. Fruitful Endeavour
- Criteria – Turn Lagoon City’s Goal Plate into a pile of fruit
Another Goal Plate related trophy and achievement now.
In Lagoon City you can play through an Amy exclusive stage called ACT ‘Amy’. Play through this level from start to finish while using Amy’s double jump or hammer attack to bash the giant fruit out of her way.
You will need to hit 100 pieces of fruit throughout the stage for the Goal Plate to turn into a fruit salad with the ‘Fruitful Endeavour’ trophy or achievement being the cherry on top.
27. Heroic Blue Blur
- Criteria – Use Sonic’s Drop Dash to defeat 100 enemies

28. Aerial Takedown Artist
- Criteria – Use Tail’s aerial attack to defeat 100 enemies
Tail’s Tail Swipe ability can be activated by pressing and holding the jump button while in mid-air.
Repeatedly tapping the jump button while in mid-air will cause Tails to ascend however his stamina is limited and he will fall back to earth one exhausted.
While flying, you can maneuver Tails to hit enemies with his Tail Swipe ability by steering into them from below or from the side.
Simply use this move 100 times to defeat enemies throughout the game to get the trophy or achievement to unlock.

Trip’s double jump ability can be activated by pressing the jump button a second time while in mid-air.
Trip’s double jump covers her in dangerous spikes that will destroy enemies upon contact.
32. Zap Scrap Star
- Criteria – Clear Zap Scrap in Frozen Base without taking damage
The next challenge for our Sonic Superstars Trophy & Achievement Guide is Zap Scrap Star.
To unlock this trophy or achievement, players must complete the level and defeat the boss at the end of Frozen Base Zone Act 2 without taking a single hit.
This battle isn’t as daunting as the trophy and achievement description sounds. Zap Scrap Star takes places in outer space with the player piloting a one of Eggman’s ships.
In his first phase, Eggman has a single attack that sees him firing meandering green bullets towards you. Keep holding the fire button and position yourself to hit the vent the green bullets emerge from but prioritise avoiding damage by ducking out of the way of fire whenever needed.
Eventually Eggman will move into his second phase, piloting a giant ship shaped like his own head while shields circle around him. He will occasionally rain down orange projectiles from above but these are easily dodged.
Continue to fire upon him and chip away his shields. Once all of his shields have been depleted he will explode once more and the Zap Scrap Star trophy or achievement will be yours.
33. Medal Maestro
- Criteria – Collected 100 Medals from Bonus Stages
Following the method above for the ‘Whirligig World’ trophy and achievement, continue to play through Bonus Stages whenever you can access them throughout the game.
Each Bonus Stage can reward up to three Medals so to earn this trophy or achievement you will have to play over thirty Bonus Stages.
34. ACT ”Fruit” Aficionado
- Criteria – Collect 600 or more Rings from ACT ”Fruit”
For the next challenge for our Sonic Superstars Trophy & Achivement Guide, we recommend following the method above for the ‘Fruity Frontier’ trophy and achievement to access the ACT ”Fruit” levels.
The ACT ”Fruit” level is the easiest of the three ACT ”Fruit” stages in the game and requires players to ascend through a series of platforms and ramps while the level auto scrolls behind them
Using Tails ability to fly will make short work of this otherwise challenging trophy and achievement.
Start the level by spin dashing up the ramp and immediately take flight. You need to collect as many rings as you can as you ascend the level. Popping balloons grants more ring bonuses and spinning all of the numbered tiles throughout the stage is essentially for scoring over 600 rings in a single attempt.
You need to reach the highest platform with at least 550 rings to achieve the 600 total rings when you open the final treasure chest.
35. Ring Collector
- Criteria – Collect 200 or more Rings when clearing a Stage
Return to Bridge Island Zone Act 1 for this trophy or achievement as the first level of Sonic Superstars is also the easiest to unlock Ring Collector on.
Play through the Stage taking care not to take damage from any Badniks or from the hazards around the level.
Pick up every ring you see as you traverse the level and double back once areas are cleared so you can explore higher or lower paths with fresh rings to collect.
Towards the end of the level you’ll be chased by the giant Mosasaurus. keep holding right and jumping over the gaps to easily evade this crimson brute.
Pass through the Goal Plate with more than 200 rings to unlock this simple trophy or achievement.
36. All In A Day’s Work
- Criteria – Defeat 1,000 enemies
The next trophy and achievement in our Sonic Superstars Trophy & Achievement Guide will be one of the last that you unlock as you play through the game.
Similar to the ‘Ring King’ trophy and achievement above, this one will unlock naturally over time as you play the game.
Try to target and destroy as many enemies as you can as you play through the game. You can also pair this trophy or achievement with the character specific attacks challenges. Earning ‘Heroic Blue Blur’, ‘Aerial Takedown Artist’, ‘Crimson Guardian’, ‘Tenderhearted Hammer-wielder’ and ‘Prickly Protector’ will save time.
37. Gold Enemy Hunter
- Criteria – Defeat the gold enemies in all Stages
This is potentially the hardest and most time consuming trophy or achievement in Sonic Superstars.
Hidden in each level is a golden variant of a standard enemy. Simply finding and defeating the enemy doesn’t register the enemy as defeated.
If you die after defeating the gold enemy, all enemies in the level will return, including the gold ones therefore to get the game to register that the enemy has been defeated, you must complete the Stage without dying after beating the gold enemy.
You can check to see if a gold enemy has been defeated and registered on the level select screen. If a gold enemy has been defeated in a level, an icon will be added to the level menu as shown below.
To help you on your journey to discovering every gold enemy, we have produced a detailed guide on how to find all Gold Enemies in Sonic Superstars!
38. Emerald Expert
- Criteria – Unlock all trophies
This last on is self explanatory really, in order to unlock the Platinum Trophy for Sonic Superstars you must earn every other trophy in the game.
Obviously this is a PlayStation specific trophy, but our Sonic Superstars Trophy & Achievement Guide will still have you covered whichever platform you choose to play on.
And that’s a wrap!
