When I tested out the Orange FM cartridge earlier this year which turned my Game Boy Color into an FM Radio, it got me wondering what else there was out there that could transform it from its usual state of playing Dragonyhm into something else wholly nostalgic. Well, it turns out that you can turn it into an old PC from the 90s running Windows 3.1 thanks to the GBS Windows cartridge, bringing all the nostalgic fun of Minesweeper, Paint, and classic tunes on the Media app.
The wait is almost over.⏳💾

Next week, the new batch of #GBSWindows will be ready.

This is your chance. pic.twitter.com/9Ym80fzHY8
Make music using an on-screen keyboard, play a defence game that looks like a cross between Bubble-Bobble and Space Invaders, and print out pictures you make in Paint on a GB Printer. Honestly, it's basically everything I was doing in the 90s when I should have been concentrating on growing up.
GBS Windows is a project by RubenRetro in GB Studio and costs €40 for the box and a physical cartridge, which is around $45 or £34. Head to their Etsy store to get in your order and find out more.
