If you're a long-time Retro Dodo reader, then you'll know all about our love of the Prince of Persia. We spent an afternoon chatting with the game's creator Jordan Mechner about his influential work in the industry and how he created the game, and it was incredibly insightful to learn about all the processes involved with making games back in the late 80s when the technology we have today simply didn't exist and hadn't even been thought of.

It's nice when people go out of their way to make new games and tributes in this old style to keep the spirit of the 80s alive, and this new game from Adamatomic is a brilliant tribute to two of the most iconic titles that bookmarked the 80s - Wolfenstein and the original Prince of Persia. It's all the hard-as-nails gameplay from Mechner's classic with the Nazi-thwarting elements of Wolfenstein, and it's free to play in your browser!

The game itself is simple to play but ruthless when it comes to its difficulty - you'll need a weapon in your hand to defeat enemies, even though defeating them is as simple as walking past them. Things are much easier once you do get the scrap of metal from the first level and start taking names, and the game takes me back to playing titles on the PC when I should have been listening in IT class in high school. Any game that says it's rated 'N for Nazi stabbin'' is definitely weird enough to appeal to me, and if you want to check the game out you can play it right now by visiting the official itch.io page!
