Henrik Rydgård is never one to rest on his laurels. PPSSPP is the number one PSP emulator in the world for a reason, and it's because Henrik has built an incredible programme that still gets updates and improvements. A new post on X tells us that there are 'lots of fixes' coming our way with new features and support for existing ones, and Henrik sure has been busy!
PPSSPP 1.20 is currently being rolled out for Android users over the next few days while Henrik monitors any crashes, with the iOS version taking a little longer to get sorted due to Apple being Apple.
PPSSPP 1.20 has been released! Lots of fixes, portrait mode on iOS, support for relay servers for easier multiplayer setup, etc.

Android is rolling out now, you'll get it soon if you installed from Play Store! iOS will take a little longer. Links to changelog and downloads:
So what's new? Well, there's support for Portrait Mode on iOS and other devices, not that I can imagine many people would want to play PSP games on an even smaller screen. But if that's your jam, then now you can! There are new touch control layouts alongside improved text rendering, rotation fixes, and better handling of unsupported ISOs.
The list of updates and improvements is vast, with support for multiplayer relay services, DualSense controllers, and tilt controls. There are also improvements to how certain games run too, with Henrik fixing graphical issues in games like Tales of Phantasia X and fixing the savedata problem that has been occurring in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, as well as getting the soundtrack working again in Tony Hawk's Project 8!
You can find a full list of all the improvements on the PPSSPP website. And if you're just getting into emulators, then check out our best emulators for Android and iPhone gaming!
