The Polymega Remix is putting game preservation first. That box above might look a little like an old-school printer, but it's actually a portable device that you can use to digitise CD-based games and also cartridges using extra modules. Once digitised, they can be played on any compatible device through the Polymega App.
If you have a Sega CD collection, PS1 games, or CD/DVD games from any retro system, you'll be able to load them into Remix and make digital versions of them. You'll be able to do everything from NES to N64 carts with this as well via separate Element modules, making this a one-stop shop for game preservation.

For those people who travel around a lot and want a way to take their collection with them or would just prefer to play their games in a more modern format, Remix is going to be revolutionary. It's made up of two parts - the Remix base unit, and the Polymega app, which allows users to add patches to their games, see virtual display modes, and much more.
At this moment in time, the Polymega has support for PC gaming handhelds, Intel-based Macs, Windows, and laptops. Polymega have said that they're working on bringing the platform to iOS and Android as well as Apple Silicon devices. If I can take my existing discs and get them onto my iPhone using Remix, that would be a dream come true. It would do great things for people making legal versions of their games and hopefully change the stance on emulation as a whole.
Pre-orders for Remix go live today at 16:00 UK time/8.00 PT from the Polymega website and will cost $199 USD. Remix orders will begin shipping in May, with the Polymega App arriving afterwards once orders have arrived. And for any of our Japanese readers, you can make orders from World Game Express.
