It's not too long ago since I covered a ROM hack that only contains the weedier (or should that be 'weedle-ier') Pokémon that we always overlook and forces users to make teams using them. It's a great concept and one that gives the lower-level characters that get left by the wayside a chance to shine. It's a different take on the norm and makes you pay attention to certain types more intently.

If you're a bug lover, then you'll be all over Pokémon Project Bugn't, and if you're not a bug lover, then you'd better learn to be. The Pokédex in this game solely revolves around Bug Pokémon, although they have all lost their 'Bug' typing. Caterpie, for instance, is now a Psychic-type, Heracross is Fighting/Ground-type, and Surskit is a Water-type.

The game's developer, The Pod, has given each fully-evolved Bug a different type combo and signature ability, as well as moves that make them feel much more unique than in previous games.

In other words, bugs are the new legendaries, and the more legs you have, the cooler you are.

Project Bugn't is The Pod's sequel to their Pokémon Black 2 ROM Hack 'Project Bug'. It's safe to say that they love bugs more than the standard Pokémon trainer, though probably less than those creeps who hide out in Viridian Forest in the first games - those guys don't know when to give up!

The ROM hack has a brand new story and voice-acted cutscenes. There are lots of bug Pokémon, including Fakemon and Mega Evolutions, multiple endings, a portable PC, a move relearner, and much more. The Pod hopes that we'll all find it amusing too, though if you're scared of bugs, you might not see the funny side...
